Blog about my work in game research and notes from game related conferences. Welcome! Thursday, May 26, 2016. Computational modelling in games at BIRS, Banff, Canada, May 2016. I spent last week in Canada, at the beautiful Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery. Up in the mountains, together with a group of very smart people. We gathered to have workshops about computational modeling in games.
Chania, Crete, Greece. FDG 2013, the 8th International Conference on the Foundations of Digital Games, is a focal point for academic efforts in all areas of research and education involving games, game technologies, gameplay, and game design. The goal of the conference is the advancement of the study of digital games, including new game technologies, capabilities, designs, applications, educational uses, and modes of play. 24 hours student game competition open for registration. Is a 24-hour students-only game development compeition now open for registration. It was inspired by Global Game Jam and overseen by Iranian GGJ organizers, mainly Hamzeh Azad. It is sponsored by Persian Games, Tunisian Game Developers and Mazandaran University. Participation is free and completely online. But the organizers are arranging an in-person award ceremony taking place in Tehran in March.
